I'm preparing for a presentation in The Netherlands coming Friday so my thoughts now have to be diverted to something else ... briefly.

Hi All. I'm happy to announce that DMX 4 is now in Alpha stages and still on track to meet end of June deadlines. I've made a synchronization client partly based on my earlier work with DNN FotoVision client that will allow you to synchronize a dir on your local hard disk with a DMX somewhere on the planet. That it really neat when you see it run. I've also been able to see a demo of WebDAV (someone else working on that) in DMX. Now that is real exciting. Open Word and just access your document directly and save as if it was on your hard disk. This is what people have been waiting for (I hope).

Next Friday I'll be presenting at the Dutch Software Developers Network in Ede. 'll be flying out to show how you can make nifty document centric solutions on top of DNN. I will illustrate this with a gallery module built on top of DMX 3. So you basically have document management (versions, approval, rights etc) of JPGs that can then be displayed in a controlled manner through some interface. I have been toying with MS Ajax a bit to spice it up. I hope they'll like it. I will also hold a talk on how to make a living the DNN-way. I won't claim to be like the authorative resource on this, but I think I have some interesting experience to bring to the forum. Who knows it might help someone decide what he/she wants to do with DNN.

To prepare and do this I'm more or less incommunicado for this week. So please be patient on the forums/email/etc.

Peter

Re: Alpha ready ... Out of the office

Yes, yes, we are waiting for the WebDAV feature!! Its one of my main points in my argument that we should not spend $1000s on Sharepoint for an intranet but stick with DNN!
