Hello,

I’m having a few problems with WebDAV and need some help please…….

1) When viewing the DMX tree in the module and then select “Open in Windows Explorer” it doesn’t open to the actual WebDAV location it opens a Windows Explorer window but shows “My Computer” instead with all drives showing.

2) I can open the WebDAV folder location in Word 2003 and see the folders and files. I can open the files, however, I am unable to save any changes? It opens the document without [Read Only] in the title. It does prompt for a login, I’ve used the host account login and other accounts without success. We use AD authentication for our accounts as it is an Intranet based system, no DNN accounts exist apart from host

3) If I open the file from within the DMX module (right click Open in Word), the document opens but this time it does show [Read Only]. When you save it opens the Word dialog box, shows the folder and files where it is stored, however, it will not save, it states that the file is read only?

4) If I type for example http://intranet/dmxdav.ax.../release%20notes.txt it opens the files without any problems. However, I am unable to save changes etc. to the file

5) If I view DMX contents in Internet Explorer 7 (using http://intranet/dmxdav.axd  or http://intranet/dmxdav.ax...usiness%20management )

 – again it prompts for a login, I’ve used the host account login and other accounts without success. We use AD authentication for our accounts as it is an Intranet based system, no DNN accounts exist apart from host. The host account generates a HTTP 405 Method Not Allowed error once logged in?

Checks I have done:

-          IIS WebDAV is disabled in IIS6

-          Only Anonymous Access is enabled in IIS

-          Network_Service account has full permissions as stated in the documentation

-          I have been through the setup/config manual and everything is as it should be

-          After changes in IIS an IIS reset has be done

-          I have run the webfldrs.msi on my XP workstation

-          I have run a repair/check on the DNN web.config file

Software Version Information

-          Workstation: Windows XP Pro with SP3 / Internet Explorer 7

-          Server: Windows 2003 Server R2 / IIS6

-          DNN 04.09.00

-          DMX Exchange 04.03.02

Any ideas please ??????????

Thank you,

Kind Regards,

Gary.

Gary,

It is probably the AD authentication that is conflicting here. The calls to webdav need to be authenticated. There is no other way than to do that ourselves. For that all other authentication mechanisms must not interfere with the call being made to webdav or we'll never get this correct.

About txt files: the Text editor (Notepad) is not a webdav client. It cannot 'edit' online like Word can.

Hi Peter,

I am using AD integration with my Intranet install of DNN 4.9. So, am I to take it that DMX Webdav will not work because I am using Active Directory Authentication?

I have Active Directory in DNN setup so that, if they click a link I call "Automagic Login", then they are authenticated through Active Directory, else they are anonymous.

Please let me know.

Thanks!

Hi Mark,

This part is being worked on. I expect AD integration to work with WebDAV for DMX 05.00.01.
