I am having issues opening in Word. When I use the open in Word function I get a username/password box I can download with no problem. I had to reinstall the config to get the open in Word function to work. I made sure that WebDav is prohibited in IIS and that only basic authentication is turned on. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for the response. Basic authentication is turned off and the only thing that is checked is anonymous. WebDav is prohibited in IIS. What else should I look for? Thanks, Jeremy

Hi Jeremy, 1. Add the verbs to the axd handler in IIS application configuration. 2. Add the wildcard That should conclude all IIS changes. Now it's up to the client to handle the call correctly. You can try several ways to approach WebDAV: 1. 'Open in Windows Explorer' in the DMX UI, 2. 'Open in Word' in the DMX UI, 3. 'Add Network Place' in Windows Explorer. Let me know what happens on either of these. If all fails, contact me through email with a login and I'll have a look and try to analyze the traffic. Peter

I am having a similar problem. When I give All Users permission to View and Edit a document. The document Opens up in Word just fine. However, if I take off permission for All Users to View and Edit and I only let certain users View and Edit a document. When I right click on the document in the DMX and click Open in Word, Word opens and a dialog box prompt for Username and password comes up. I have given All Users and the other user groups permission to use WebDAVs in the Main Options. What does the permission in the Main Options for WebDAVs do? Do you have any suggests for Opening up a Word document without a username and password prompt?

Hi Tiphanie, The permissions in the main options govern who is allowed to use WebDAV. So someone can have the right to edit a document, but not through WebDAV. By default it is set to very permissive (i.e. All Users). Some customers wanted to limit who could use WebDAV. About opening up WebDAV: Whenever the document has restricted access (i.e. not editable for All Users) then the user will need to be authenticated. There is no way around that. The issues you're having might relate to the use of Active Directory authentication. I'll be working on this part over the coming weeks and I'll probably be in touch to see if we can set up some tests. Peter
