Peter,
I want to use DMX on a number of pages and have different sets of categories on each. Is this possible?
Many Thanks
Jim

In one word: no. Categories are portal-wide.

so what you are saying is that there is no way to have multiple instances of this module and keep them all seperate.
we have a portal that is a project management portal. each project we want to replace our current doc control module with DMX. the DMX is superior to functionality and usability. so we want to use it.
do all instances of these portals have to point to the same storage folder? im i missing something for anyone to be able to answer this question.

Josh,
You're missing the whole idea behind DMX. The content is portal wide but every DMX instance can be made to 'start' in a particular place in the 'portal wide document tree' like a virtual drive. Check under 'Options' and you'll see a dropdown labeled 'Root'. This is where you set the place that instance starts.
