We have purchased the DMX module for our website, and have not been able to do any testing with the functionality of the search function on the DNN site pulling information from the DMX module into the search results. If you have used this before, can you please let me know how it has worked for you?

It doesn't. DMX implements its own search engine because DNN's search engine is somewhat limited (although it is improving lately).
