I am having problems getting Adobe's IFilter to work with Lucene and Windows Indexing Service.  I am running Windows Server 2008 SP2 32bit and have installed Adobe IFilter 6.0.

After installing the IFilter I reindex the portal but I still cannot get any pdf search results in DMX.  I also used Luke to look at the Lucene catalog and none of the pdf content is indexed.  Office documents, however, are indexed.

I also tried creating a catalog in Indexing Service and tried to index pdf documents.  These documents will not pull up in a search and I am stumped.  Any help is appreciated.

Hi Jacob,

This is an issue of the iFilter, not DMX. I don't want to sound unhelpful but your best bet is to take this up with Adobe.

Hi Peter,

This was a weird issue. As far as I can tell there is no pdf IFilter that works with Windows Server 2008 32 bit. We brought up a 64 bit version of Windows Server 2008 and installed the 64 bit pdf IFilter from Adobe. In this environment the DMX module is able to index pdf content so the problem was resolved.
