I'm running DNN 05.06.07 (7) and DMX FlexList 2.3.4. A few weeks ago I had to update a whole batch of PDFs which of course I simply edited, and reuploaded via FTP with the same file names, which replaced the old ones. Unfortunately, it appears DMX has a mind of its own - the old version on all the PDFs still appear when viewing through the example.com//DesktopModules/Bring2mind/DMX/Download.aspx?..... I've cleared the DNN cache, I've recycled the app pool, I've killed it and restarted it, I've emptied the Cache folders and still I have not beenj able to get DMX to pull the updated files. Any ideas what might be causing this or how to fix it?

I'm not sure DMX 'cached' the old files. It doesn't do that kind of caching. Instead I think somehow the new data is not being picked up. When you say you used FTP: how did you do this? Do you use a SyncFolder? DMX itself does not come with FTP capability.

Thanks for the reply, Peter. I'm using FileZilla to get into the portal directory, where all the PDFs reside and where DMX is/should be pulling them from. I've confirmed that the physical files are updated as you can simply tell by downloading them through FTP or accessing them through the replative path - http://example.com/Portals/0/documents/pdf.pdf . Also, it's a duplication issue as I've scanned the whole httpdocs directory for any other PDFs and no duplicates were found. You'd assume that if you simply update the file, the next time you try to access it through DMX, you'd be shown the updated version. Any help is highly appreciated.

It doesn't work this way. As I state in the getting started manual, DMX assumes it is the sole manager of the repository. You can't replace a file in the repository like that. Also, DMX doesn't do anything with the regular portal documents (i.e. not in its own repository). The path "documents/pdf.pdf" would not be a file that is managed by DMX anyway. DMX's files are all stored with an obfuscated name and with a special extension to make them hard to access without authorization.
