    Hi,

I have DMX 3 professional and I was wondering if their is a way to set rights to collections based on individual users and not sercurity role groups. Currently we are using DMX as a way for our clients to send files to us, and also have the ability for us to have files ready for the clients to download. The problem is we have many clients and right now we have no way of setting up permissions so that particular clients have access to their folder, or collection.

Is there a way to setup DMX so that individual users clients have access to a collection and can download and upload files only to their collection

    Hi Simrun,
No. This is impossible. It is role-based like the rest of DNN. I am looking into supporting this for DMX 4 but cannot give a guarantee that that will make it.

what about setting up collections with passwords? This way you would need a password to download files?

Then you'd be bypassing the primary authentication mechanism, which is DNN. Remember that wherever, whenever, users can directly steer into DMX content. Collections are just container references. They do not control access at all.
Apart from that the idea would also create a considerable overhead (management of passwords and the obligation for users to remember these).
