I've just installed Document Exchange 3 Professional 03.04.08 on my DNN 4.3.7 and activated it. I also have created some folders and uploaded some documents to the module.

The problem is, I can download the published files as Admin or Host, but general Registered Users are not able to download any of the files. When they click the Download icon or the Item Discription (filename), a new window opens but after a few minutes "The page cannot be displayed" and "Cannot find server" error messages appeared.

I've checked the permission and Registered Users are able to View the files.

What is the problem? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Regards - Bubu

    I solved it.

I was using a UNC of \\servername\c$\DMX as the Repository Location. I changed it to c:\DMX and it's now working.

I'm having the same problem and I'm also using a unc path, but I can't move the folder to the local webserver since there isn't enough space.  My entire Portals folder is hosted on a file server.  Is there a way I can configure DMX to use the UNC path?  If not I will need a refund.

    Chris,
It can be done but you need to have some knowledge of Windows Networking. The important thing to remember is that the asp.net worker process on the web server needs permission to read/write on the network share. This has been done by numerous customers so far.

Can you provide some instructions? We currently have the network wide open to the ASP.net worker process, that is how it is able to create the files on the network share, but for some reason DMX is not able to display the documents to the user. Also the standard Repository module that comes with DNN works just fine with the UNC configuration.

    Chris,
You're also sending me email about this. I've sent you a response. In the 'storage and security' forum you'll find more info about these issues.
