Hi Peter,

The modified date on files shows the date uploaded to DMX4. This appears to be consistent whether the web interface or WebDAV is used.

Is there a way to show the original date modified on the file?

It is important because the content of the file is not modified by adding it to the repository. Users need to be able to see when the document content was actually modified.

Also, synchronizing documents from a local store to the DMX4 repository cannot work if the date modified on DMX4 never matches the date modified of the original file.

Thanx,

Lance Prager

More info...

Importing files works just fine. It preserves the original Date Modified from the file and shows the uploaded date correctly.

So, the problem occurs only when uploading with WebDAV and through the web interface.

Hi Lance,

This is necessarily so. The simple fact is that that date is not transfered with a file. A web upload just transfers the file, not it's date. The latter is encrusted on your hard disk. The reason import works with the date is that it can actually examine the hard disk. The other methods can't.
