could I ask what (if any) reports are available for administrators?  my client requires a report including:

  • who download/uploaded a file (by login name/IP address)
  • what file was downloaded/uploaded
  • what time the file was downloaded/uploaded

thanks!

Hi Jason,

There is no standard reporting tool included. This is by design as there is no end to what people find useful to report on and we could never be complete, nor could we avoid overloading admins with this. But reporting is pretty simple to realize given the amount of reporting solutions out there. You could start with the Reports module that comes with DNN for instance.

If you want to create a report dive into your SQL and find the tables with names preceded by DMX_. The naming is pretty self explanatory and it should be easy to compile some nice reports. Your key table here is DMX_Log which ties UserId to EntryId (i.e. the document) with an operation and time. Pretty straightforward.

From the list you mention I should add that admins already see a log on the details screen of a document.
