How do I upgrade from 4.00.06 to 4.01?  Is that suggested to help fix the search problems?

Thomas,

Yes, v 04.01.00 includes fixes for search. Upgrading DMX is 'simply' a matter of uploading the zip as you did the first time. DNN takes care of proper upgrade procedures. Log in as host, go to 'Module Definitions', choose 'upload new module', select module and go. Note: make sure you are on a good bandwidth as the module is 2.7 Mb and can hit a timeout on upload (alternatively you can increase the executionTimeout in the web.config).

Hi Peter,

Non of the few modules (including DMX) I have incorporated into one of our client's site show a tick against "Upgrade Available" in the Module Definitions page.

I don't know about the others but I do know that I'm behind (especially on Search and Categories issues) using 04.00.03.

Is there another route to upgrade while preserving the existing document tree, perms, etc.?

Thanks

Hi Ian,

In DNN if you upload a module, DNN takes care of upgrading! That is: provided the module developer did his work correctly. When you upload a newer version of DMX into a DNN installation your document tree is preserved and only necessary changes are made.

The 'upgrade available' button/flag is a DNN feature that is available to core modules and those that are sold through Marketplace. DMX will be sold through the marketplace when the latter is ready.
