We're trying to put together a folder hierarchy.   We've got the following as an example...

Root

-- Miscellaneous

-- -- Misc1

-- -- -- Misc2

-- -- -- -- Misc3

Through the DMX module, we are able to use "Open in Windows Explorer" on the Root, Miscellaneous, and Misc1 folders.  When we try on the Misc2 and Misc3 folders, we get no error, but we also do not get any explorer window.  This behavior appears to be consistent across all of the folder structures we're trying to implement - that is, the root and the next two levels work, anything deeper than that does not, whether from a dmx module which shows the tree starting at the root, or at any of the subfolders.

We've just gotten fiddler (per one of the other posts) and can provide that information if it might be useful.

Software and versions - Server: DNN 4.6.2, DMX 4.02.00.    Client: Windows XP 2002 with SP2, IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254

There's a strong possibility that the problem is actually related to the following Microsoft issue...

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/250807

where a web folder address can only be 99 characters or less.

We installed IE7 on a different system and tried it, and it worked just fine, until we got much deeper in the hierarchy, at which point we may have been bumping up against the 260 character limit described in this hotfix...

I get the feeling that it's a good idea to keep your client PC up to date regarding MS update fixes. I just tried an 'old' Win XP and found some differences in the way it 'talks' webdav to DMX. It could well be that an up-to-date Win XP has the above fixes already in place.
