hi, is it possible to restrict file types that can be uploaded for a folder/collection? If I was to create a "holding area"where people can upload documents and complete all the document details, would I then be able to move these documents to the appropriate collections/folder leaving all other settings unchanged? regards

Hi Tony, From your message I take you're asking about 2 possible solutions. My take on this: 1. No. There is no setting on a folder to prevent/allow file types. 2. You can create an upload folder somewhere that is 'open' for upload and using an instance somewhere else on the portal it could be fairly esay for people to add stuff. The drawback would be that uploaders would also have access to other's uploaded stuff and this you probably don't want. BTW If you move something then all that changes in a document is the link to the 'parent'. So all other settings would be preserved. You'd probably want to edit the permissions after the move though, right? My 2cts, Peter
