I'm using WebDAV to upload some Folders and Files to our Server that are about 1-2 MB in Size and for the most part they upload just fine, but every so often we get this message in the little box that pops up on the screen "An Error Occurred Copying Some or All of the Selected Files". The files are mostly PDF's right now. Any ideas? Also I've got the Maximum File Size and TimeOut in the Web.Config set quite a bit higher than any of these files should require. Thank You in advance.

Hi Kevin,

This can be erratic on large volume copies, yes, and it happens to me on other WebDAV connections as well (i.e. not just DNN/DMX). I'm not sure if this is a protocol problem, IIS, DNN, or DMX. It's on my radar, but I can't replicate it consistently enough to pinpoint a culprit.

Hi Peter, Thank You for your quick response. I think I've discovered something that may help you figure this problem out.

I re-uploaded a few folders using WebDAV and checked the files that failed for anything in common and what I found is that when the files were named the File Name contained an "&" Symbol and by removing that Symbol and using the word "AND" instead the files were able to be uploaded just fine. I'm not sure if this Error would appear if any other non-alpanumeric character was used, but I can not upload ANY file that has the "&" Symbol in the file name until I rename the file.

Please let me know what you think. Thanks again

Hi Peter, here is some more information for you.

I performed a little experiment by creating .TXT Files with File Names that contained each of the Non-Alphanuemeric Characters that Windows will let you use in a File Name (Example: ~ TEST.TXT, ! TEST.TXT and so on). Then I attempted to upload them to DMX 4 using WebDAV and I found that the only files that would generate the Error Message contained the "&" Symbol and the "%" Symbol.

I hope this helps.

Kevin,
This is great researching. Thanks a bunch. I'll make a note of this.
Cheers,
Peter
