Hi all,

I'm upgrading DMX 3 to 4 in DNN 4.8.2.

I'm following the DMX Pro 4 Installation instructions found in the downloads section. The install did not report any errors, however, on page 6 of the doc (Installation checking and errors), point #2, they say :

In the DesktopModules\Bring2mind\DMX folder there should be sub folders called ‘Menu’ and ‘Core’. If not then it looks like a failed upgrade of DMX 3 to 4. Again check the file permissions as mentioned above. (Permissions for NETWORK SERVICE)

In my case, I only find the Menu folder. Core is not there. Did my upgrade really fail?!? The NETWORK SERVICE has Full Controll over the entire app folder. What gives?!

Thanks

Me again,

I kept reading on down the page, and it seems there are other clues to indicate my upgrade failed.

  • my DB doesn't have the DMX_Permissions table (Point #3),
  • my ModuleControls table only has one record referencing DMX (Point #5).

BUT

My actual module instance seems functional, and the DMX 3 Upgrade script installed successfully. So, I'M STILL really confused...

Hi,

The absence of the 'Core' folder is no longer a good indicator. It is no longer included in the distribution. Menu should be there.

Regarding the DB: that is definitely a good indicator. DMX_Permissions must be there. If not then it's DMX 3. You say you have a functional module. Does it look like DMX 4 or 3? Did the upgrade script run (under 'Run Scripts')?
