Peter:

I have installed DMX 4 and am having some problems with the WebDAV component. When I enter the address of \\abc\dmxdav.axd (abcis a dns pointer) I am prompted for a password. No matter what I type in i am told it is incorrect. I thought perhaps it was a bad AD connection so I tried to login with the host account and still the same thing. I have tried local admins, domain admins, users that we verify work in the Portal but still i get logon unsuccessful. Any help?

Hi Vincent,

Windows is trying to authenticate this as a network share, ie. using CIFS instead of WebDAV. The only way to hook into webdav is through so-called web folders. They have a regular http address.

Other tips: try to avoid testing with the host account. It does not have a role in your portal.

I get the same results if I try to add a network place using http://abc/dmxdav.axd althought if I type http://abc/dmxdav.axd in an internet explorer browser it says:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Hi Vincent,

Did you configure IIS correctly as described in the installation manual? This error is from IIS looking for something it can't find. If configured correctly the DMX webdav should be handling this call.
