When I search from the Tools menu and use Advanced search I get lots of results, but using the quick search tab from the search on the Tools menu or the DNN integrated search (I ran the script to put the Search module on the Search Results page) I get no results.

What do I need to do to even troubleshoot this?

Thanks
Sean

Hi Sean,
Which version of DMX are you using? From your words it is a pre 04.03.00 version or not?

Hi Sean,

Quick search does nothing more than do an 'advanced' search on the fields title, contents and keywords. It combines those with 'or'. There is no explanation for doing a search on title 'foo' and a quicksearch on 'foo' where the second does not return at least what the first returned. Is this what you're observing? Note that Lucene can only search from the start of a word, so only items starting with foo are returned.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm seeing.

I'm using the Indexing Service provider - I see this whether I use a term that is at the start of the title or is contained in the title.

Hi Sean,

Is there any chance I can see this in action? I'm not sure how I can debug this as I can't reproduce it here.

Sean's issue I believe was resolved with a DMX update. There were some changes to the Indexing Service Search provider in the meantime.
