Obviously anything can be done.  But can it be done with your partial source.

I need to perform a number of customizations some will require source others will not, can you let me know if I buy the source will I be able to customize these features.

  1. Display a disclaimer before the upload of files (I am guessing I can modify the ascx control for uploading now to do this)
  2. Only allow pdf and jpg images.  This can be a simple file check when they try to upload a file.   maybe even a regular expression before pressing upload.  No need for an interface.]
  3. Eventually I need to convert all files to pdf when uploaded, not an immediate requirement.
  4. Search custom fields in a variety of ways ( I believe this already exists)
  5. Archive old documents to an archive folder.  Basically, just move a folder so that it appears under another folder titled archive.  Looking at the DB this seems quite doable.
  6. Modify the pop-up menu on folders to remove items that users shouldn't see.

I really like the module as a whole, just have some unique requirements.

Thanks,

Stuart

Hi Stuart,

1. Yes. The Download.aspx is at your disposal.
2. Yes. The EditEntry and various controls are avaiable for tuning.
3. Yes. The upload controls are available.
4. Search is split off in a provider, so this is easy to adjust
5. Storage is split off in a provider as well. You should be able to do this.
6. The menus can be modified already. They are copied locally to the portal home dir. There you can adjust it. But it does require some understanding of XSLT. If you're familiar with this it should look familiar.

Let me know if you have any more inquiries. The module was designed to allow it to be extended and modified in the way you mention.
