Hi,

Recently we utilized a new installation of DMX 4, and uploaded around 2200 documents to the module. Very strangely Many of the documents are now missing from the module.

I mean The DMX_Entries table is now displaying count=2282 docuemnts where ENTRY column is NOT NULL, but the Portal Root of the site is displaying a count of 1818 .resources Files ONLY.

Also, I've not checked All documents but Many documents that are displayed in DMX module when Downloaded is throwing an error and the file is not downloaded.

Can you help me out here and also I would like to know how come the .resources files which should be created in portal root went missing for DMX docment records.

I want to restore the misisng files, how can I do so? I do not hold original documents at present.

Hi Varun,

How did you upload? Using import? Or one by one?

Another question: did you ever use a repository path that was not the default?

No, Documents were uploaded One by One.

No Repository path was never modified, it was set to Default as with the default installation.

Hi Varun,

I have no other explanation for this than that someone deleted the files on the server itself. The file gets its name after upload which is subsequently stored in the db. The file ONLY gets deleted if a host user presses hard delete and only after the record has been deleted from the database. It is pretty hard to get DMX to delete a file it has stored.

Why don't you contact me by email and we'll work out a way to analyze the extent of the damage and what we can do to repair.

Peter
