Hi!

I've installed DMX onto our dev copy of DNN. When I try to open something in Windows Explorer, it asks me to authenticate. I know you've probably answered this question 100 times. But what might be unique about our configuration is that the dev server is on the DMZ, and DMX is configured to access a UNC that is inside the network.

Have you run into this kind of situation?

Thanks,

Eric

Hi Eric,

The webdav authentication is not related to how DMX gets/stores its contents. The authentication challenge can happen because Windows does not send your login credentials automatically or the cookie is not sent. This can be a result of one or more security barriers in your client's configuration. The server is relatively easy to configure, but the variation in Windows clients (XP, Vista, Office 2003, 2007, etc) is making it very hard to predict what you'll get. We keep working on this part to perfect it, but MS is making this a moving target with dreadful WebDAV implementation in Vista.
