I have just installed DMX locally and I was wondering if I can create a custon attribute called thumbnail and upload an image to an application file that has been uploaded. I am unsure how or what the resource & control to load options may be.

Forum search has sever OLD posts. And I cannot find anything in the Quickstart or installation docs.

Thanks in advance.

Hi James,

A thumbnail attribute type is not available out-of-the-box. I guess you could do this with a custom custom attribute. Meaning hooking in a custom control for your custom attribute. This question is more for the API forum. I'll move this thread there.
To do it requires using the ControlToLoad field in the CustomAttributes table. There are some threads on this in the API forum.

Hello
I have installed DMX.
I created 3 custom attributes (number, date and string). In the page "ALL PORTAL ATTRIBUTES" is ok; but, when I use this custom attributes after I upload the file, nothing!... Appear the 3 fields but without the name of the attributes.

Can you help me?

Thanks

Hi Oscar,

1. Which version of DMX are you using?
2. You say that the 3 fields appear. Where do they appear?
3. You mention that after file upload 'nothing'. What do you mean by this? You don't see a 'custom' page to enter the attribute values?
