I have a website that allows users to setup private portals. I am trying to use Doc Exchange to allows members of the private  portals to share documents.

I want the permissions to allow the site administrator to have full control of the documents. For other members they should have read only permission, unless it is a document that they uploaded in which they too should have full control.

So a user can delete documents that they have uploaded, but not delete those uploaded by others.

Is this possible in Doc Exchange?

thanks

Hi Digen,

The content of DMX is restricted to portal level. Only a superuser can traverse portals and see content. This is because security roles are particular to a portal.

Site administrators are the admins of a portal. These always have access to documents. Other users can be set to have rights or not on documents. Every folder and document has permissions set for it. So the simple answer is, yes, you can do this. Where you probably get into issues is that you want a particular workflow and maybe prevent user X from changing the permissions.

You can also check out the LetterBox addon which has functionality like you desire. Note though that the current release for this addon is for DMX 5.0.5 not 5.1.0.
