I'm using version 05.01.03 of DMX and version 4.9.0 of DNN.  Today, for the first time that I can recall, someone opened a folder using Windows Explorer, and the file they clicked on was an OLD version of the file.  The current version of the file opens when I double click the file from the DMX ajax interface, but the OLD version shows up in the windows explorer method.

Have you ever seen this behavior, and how can I fix it?  Thank you.

Editing and saving the web.config file does not change this behavior.

In fact, this version isn't even a version that I can download from the website.  It appears to be a version that someone may have created by "Open in Word" and hitting save.  But it has no updates from that point forward.  All the versions accessible via the website are different from this version served via webdav.  So I need some way to sync the webdav server with the actual versions.

Ok.  I determined what happened.  I have soft deleted a file named "Document1".  When I then create a new item entitled "Document1", there is a new item in the ajax that has nothing to do with the old Document1.  However, WebDAV still recognizes the old Document1 (I guess it's still there, as far as WebDAV is concerned).

If I do a hard delete, will the file be moved to the recycle bin?  I think if I do a hard delete, the webdav file will be the correct version, but I don't want to lose that history.

Thanks.

Great to know that it will be addressed.

If I do a hard delete, is the file gone forever? Or is there some way to get it? I only ask, because I think that a hard delete will fix the error that i have, but I wanted to know if the information is actually stored somewhere else. I don't exactly care if the graveyard is a bit confused. Thanks.

Hi Patrick,

The graveyard is where hard deletes go. The file is copied there plus an xml file with the latest data of it. Then it is physically removed from the DMX.
