I was struggling for a while to make the import feature work. I found out that in order to import files I have to not only have files on the web server but also I have to do it on the server. When trying to import files using a browser on another workstation it simply doesn't work (the path was pointing to folder on a mapped drive on the server). Is it by design or am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks
    A.

The import function takes files from somewhere on your server/network and imports them into DMX. This creates a copy of the file in the repository. The only requirement is that the web server's asp.net worker process has access to the directory you're trying to import. Note this very carefully: if you're working in a network it is not the file server's asp.net worker process, but the DNN/WEB server's asp.net process that needs access to the share. This issue also crops up when trying to use a share as the repository for DMX. You might need a network admin to help out with this issue.
