Hi,

I'm not sure if this a configuration issue or a bug in the DMX Search result (I added a DMX in the DNN Search result page). Searching the documents work properly. However the links of the search result redirects to homepage instead of the document details.

Document Title Link: http://localhost:90/demo/...ult.aspx?EntryId=254

Download Link: http://localhost:90/demo/...hod=attachment

Your help is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Rubie

Hi Rubie,

Please go to the Main Options of DMX and select a "Default DMX" to go to and click update to save that. That will be the target.

Hi Peter,

I was just reviewing some aspects of my DMX installation, including the DMX Search Results page link results and realized I have a similar link problem described in this post.

Currently, I have different DMX instances that reflect content on client specific pages, so I do not have a single common DMX instance that is available to all users, hence, I have no good "Default DMX" to point to for search results.

Perhaps I should change my portal design so clients all go to a common DMX module, and just let permissions control everything, then I could use this as the "Default DMX".

However, in the short term, it seems I could create a hidden page (not in menu), with a DMX instance, that could be the focus for the search results links (i.e, be the "Default DMX" module in the Main Options). The Root Folder for this module would need to be the top level root folder of all DMX content, I would assume.

Does it sound like I am understanding and on the right track here? I'm surprised I have had this goofed up for so long.

Thanks,

Hi Rob,

I suggest the hidden page solution. Whatever you do DMX doesn't show items for a user that are not his/hers to see anyway. In due course the search results control will be revamped to have more tuning (i.e. option to go for direct download instead of redirect/redirect to module XYZ/etc).

Hi Peter

I have the same issue as in post #1. I took over an existing project (developer environment, not life). Unfortunately, I have not much clue of neither DNN in general nor DMX.

Do I need to go to Administrator --> General Options? In there I can't find anything which fits your description...

Might there be already a scheduled version for this kind of direct links? That would exactly cover my needs...

Thanks,
Oliver

Log in as admin and on DMX's menu go to Admin > Main Options

"Might there be already a scheduled version for this kind of direct links? That would exactly cover my needs... "
Yes.
