how do you add the search field to the TemplateView.ascx template.  I'm customizing a new template but just realize there is no search field in the default template.  Thanks for the help.

Hi Tim,

Can you describe what you mean by "Search Field"? I'm sorry for not completely following your question.

Note TemplateView is really designed for fast flexible DMX output. Certain things that are possible in the Ajax view are not possible in the Template View.

I do not know if you continued this conversation offline, but I have the same need.

I have three custom attributes that need to be searchable (Part Number, Part Type and Operation Type). We are looking to manage over 200,000 files classified by those attributes. The whole list would never be useful to any user, simply the search results.

I have read through the template customization document and it seems straight forward enough but I need a way to filter the list by these attributes.

Thanks.

The templated view was not designed as a search results page. In cases like this you'd need a custom search module/control that hooks into the DMX dataset.
