Hi

DNN 5.44
DMX 5.2.11 upgrade to 5.30 leads to problems with the Swiss-german-language-pack.

The language-structure is as follows: Default-Language of the portal: de-CH with fallback de-DE, fallback of de-DE is en-US

All worked fine until DMX V.5.2.11. After the "successfull" installation of DMX5.3.0 i could't use swiss-german anymore, german-german with fallback en-US is still ok, but all items are in english.

I installed both resource-packs (swiss-german and german-german).

Any ideas?
Thanks Andy

Hi Andy,

DMX uses the DNN API to get texts. I can't see how any code in the module impacts the way fallbacks are handled. So I can't see how "language XYZ can't be used any more". Not from the perspective of the module.

The only thing that changes in DMX from version to version is the texts and keys of those texts themselves. So between versions you may see English texts appear as new features are added or existing features change. But this can be addressed by checking for untranslated texts in the language resources. Have you tried that?

Hi Peter

So i'm back, Thanks for your answer

I upgraded to DNN5.601 and changed the fallback-language of de-CH to en-US. Update to DMX 5.3.6 was successfull and above mentioned problem did not appear anymore.
