Hi,
My question here is if DMX able to run script for each individual portal of DNN site. My current setting of DMX sync folders would create a lot of network traffic. It causes a bit problem for me. Current schedule task takes 20+ minutes to sync all folders. I wish to run script for each portal that has file changes.
I hope this makes a bit sense to you.

Thanks.

Hi Justin,

The sync task, when run, iterates through all portals, finds all sync folder entries in DMX and runs on each in turn. If what you're asking is to run the various portal syncs in parallel, then this cannot be done, no. There is one task and it will run for as long as it has to. I'm not sure it would speed things up frankly as the same amount of work still needs to be done. I reiterate wherever possible that sync folders do not scale. So although it is a wonderful solution for a limited set of documents, it is really not good to use on large volumes of data. In DMX 6 I've added a big red banner to this effect on the sync folder settings screen.

Peter,

if the file volume too large, for example 100 portals, can I run a script or a function, when only I call the script/function for 1 portal? Therefore, I can leave those 99 portals untouched, to speed up the whole sync process.

Thanks
