I have setup Document Exchange and added numerous pdf files. These are not showing up in the DNN search results however. How to I accomplish this?

Also, where are these files stored within DNN?

If you look at previous threads, you will see that you are not alone with problems with searching pdf files.

You need to make sure that you have installed the Adobe iFilter (and perhaps some others as well).

Download the Adobe iFilter (from Adobe) and also the Microsoft Office Filter Pack and install them.

Make sure your site is set to Medium Trust.

I am on a shared hosting plan and do not have access to the server.

You may not get that to work then. Content search depends on (1) file type and (2) the server's ability to "unpack" that file type. You'll probably find that .txt files are indexed. Then it is really an issue of the PDF iFilter not being present.
