Hi,

I have just successfully installed version 06.00.04, but when I add the module to a page I get the following error message:

"A critical error has occurred. '<', hexadecimal value 0x3C, is an invalid attribute character. Line 1, position 264."

As a result the document exchange module does not render within the container and I am unable to access the control panel or license page.

Grateful for any help on this.

Many thanks,

Kevin

Hello Kevin,

Does one of the following have this character in them: the portal name, your username, display name, module title?

Hi Peter,

Yes, the host username contains this character. I assume this is the problem? Any way to get around it without changing the username? I'm not sure how to do this!

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

This is most likely the cause. The only way around is to create a host account without that character and use that account when accessing DMX. This character is not common in usernames to say the least and I'm even somewhat surprised DNN let you create a username with that character as it can easily lead to problems. You see, the '<' is likely to provoke errors in any XML or HTML environment as it is a control character in those languages. In this case the error happens in an XML blurb that creates the menu for DMX.
