I've recently upgraded our test site to 6.1.1. The upgrade was succesfull, but all of our whats new add-ons give the following error:

Error loading What's New DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Common.Globals.ConvertDataReaderToDataTable(IDataReader reader) at Bring2mind.DNN.Modules.DMX.WhatsNew.WhatsNew.ShowCollection() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I tried adding the what's new module to said pages, and the error's the same.

Seems like this might be something we resolved in the past, but the tech guy is out of the office for awhile.

Have you updated the WhatsNew to the latest version (2.4.0) yet?

I must confess that we haven't.

I thought maybe this would be part of the installation package for the DMX 6.1.1. Nor did I see anything in our Licenses area for these supporting modules.

Do we need to purchase these? I'm going to look around the Bring2Mind site to see what else I can find, but if you could please advise how we can upgrade WhatsNew to 2.4.0 it'd be appreciated.

The extensions/addons are modules made available by us through this site (Under DMX > Extensions, or by browsing through the downloads page). They are provided free and as-is (with one exception: the DocView extension is paid) and if you are a customer you have access to the source code as well. You need to keep track of the dependencies yourself. The download page for extensions show the various DMX version nrs.

Upgrading is like any other DNN module. There is nothing special except uploading the new version.

Thanks for pointing out where to find the new modules. I was having trouble finding anything until I read your directions.

Much appreciated.
