Hi,

Some of our users are experiencing a problem when the click on the “Open in Windows Explorer” option from the context menu. When they click the link, they see the delay associated with the startup of the webclient service but the Windows Explorer window never appears. All of these users previously had this working up to a couple of days ago. Currently they are running Windows 7.

The site they are connecting to is encrypted but that doesn’t seem to be the issue as other users have been able to use this functionality without any issue.

Any suggestions to get this working for these users would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if it will help but here is the Fiddler RAW data from my test site when I am able to replicate the problem. Here are the steps that I take to replicate the behavior the users are experiencing

1) On my test site select a folder and click Open in Windows Explorer.
2) The windows explorer window opens successful
3) Close the windows explorer window
4) Attempt to reopen the same folder that was just closed via Open in Windows Explorer. The windows explorer window does not open.

Hi,

The Fiddler data was incomplete. That was just a request for a menu. Nor was there a response present. My guess is that your Windows didn't even send out the request. Feel free to send me a real trace (.saz file) by email to examine.

Peter
