Hi Peter,

We had a folder that wouldn't synchronize its contents to the DNN File Manager (despite correct permissions set, etc.) and as a workaround we attempted to make a new folder and move the contents to it.

The old folder was:

/Infodesk/h and s/training

We dragged the contents to:

/Infodesk/h and s/HS Training

Once this happened, it was as though they had been removed from the old folder but a new copy was never created in the new target folder.

Interestingly links to those documents are still working.

We tried the maintenance script to re-index the portal and it didn't help.

If we've lost the originals can we salvage copies from a physical location on the server? Is it possible they exist but the logical record needs recreation still?

Thanks, Dylan (INNO Software on behalf of KCB)

Hi Dylan,

You'll need to drill down to the data in SQL server to see what happened. Can you do the following:
1. Look up the entryid for one of the concerned files.
2. Look up the corresponding record in DMX_Entries.
3. Check the CollectionId value for that record. Is it the same as the entryid of the target folder? If not, then try changing it by hand and check if it appears. If it is: can you check the "Path" field and verify that the path is indeed a concatenated string of entryids to the file? If the path field is wrong, then the trigger is somehow not working correctly. A trigger on DMX_Entries is responsible for keeping this correct.
