DMX 5.00.01, Notifications page has the default settings

We have set up a DMX project and started loading files.  Every user on the system started getting notifications of the new files, yet only a few users are administrators for the portal, and no users have subscribed to any folders or files.

Why are they all getting the subscriber messages?

I stopped the flood by removing the SMTP settings.

What may be wrong?

Hi Jeff,

I'm not sure. I'd need to have a rundown of the Notification settings and see parts of the database. If you want I can have a look if the site is online and I can have (temporary) host access. I have heard of this once before and we couldn't figure out why this happened but I never saw the installation. Contact me by email (peter at bring2mind dot net) if it's possible to see.

I'm havinf the same sort of problem with 5.0.3.  No users have subscribed to anything of which I am aware, yet are receiving Notifications upon approval.  Shouldn't just the person who uploaded the file get notified?

I've checked the Notification Settings (which I've not altered from the default) and on the "Approve" line in the "Editors" cell it reads "CORE_EDITOR_APPROVE".

Is this correct?

Hi David,

Correct. You can manually check for any subscriptions by looking at table DMX_Subscriptions. Note people that subscribe to folders are automatically assumed to be subscribed to anything underneath.
