Hi

My client wants to be able to set an expiry date for a file and after this date the file is no longer available.

Is this possible?

thanks

Hi Gus,

Not out of the box. You'd need to code a bit. What is necessary is:
1. a custom attribute 'Expiry Date' and
2. a DNN scheduled service that checks for this and does the appropriate action.
The latter requires programming. Of course you can always ask us to help you with that.

Thanks Peter

that's a great help. I have discussed the requirement with the client and they need to set an expiry date and have the files appear only in an archive folder when the date has passed. My feeling is that it would be quicker and more cost effective to ask you to do the coding.

It would probably take me too long to get up to speed with how the module works. However, do you have any documentation on building custom attribute solutions to DMX?

Hi Gus,
The best source of info is the 'API' forum here. There is no formal documentation of the API.
