Two questions about tokens in Template View: 1. I have created a custom attribute called Last Updates (date type). I am showing this in a template using [entryattribute:Last Updated]. The date always shows in this format: 2009-08-18 00:00:00Z Is there a way to apply a different date format? 2. Is there a token to show the filename for an entry (e.g. plan.doc)?

Hi Laurence, 1. Use [object:property\|format]. So [entryattribute:Last Updated\|yyyy-MM-dd] for instance. 2. entry:originalfilename Peter

Using [object:property\|format] works for entry properties like entry:LastModified but it doesn't seem to work for custom attributes with type Date.

Any way to format custom attributes with type Date (see last post)? If not, is it possible to somehow manually adjust the built in LastModified property (the reason I created a custom Last Updated attribute was to have a "last modified" date on every file that could manually be set )?

Hi Laurence, All custom attributes are stored as String internally. This is why proper dat formatting won't work. I'm afraid that's going to be very hard. Peter

OK I understand. It would be great if this was possible in a future version, as we make heavy use of templates. I will leave it with you to consider.

Hi Laurence, Cerainly Template View will be built upon in the future. It has proven to be a much valued addition. So it's there to stay. The main challenge in any extensions to it is to keep the balance between power and performance. I believe the current solution strikes a good balance between the two. Any change will have to be done with care. Having said that I don't think it is too elaborate to come up with a solution for your request. Peter
