I'll apologize upfront for my severe lack of knowledge. I'm pretty green in comparison to most of you in regards to DNN and advanced configuration of modules.
That being said, I have a client using DMX who sent me the following query:

Here’s a question for you – can the “what’s new” be configured so that the file folder is a hot link too – that way you can see the other files associated with it and also see the folder structure to know its context.

I've looked through the manuals and tried to manipulate a few things, but I'm not having any luck. I was hoping someone could lend me some guidance.

    Thanks so much :)

    Arnie,
It can't. The reason is as follows: the What's New and ShortList modules are essentially very simple lists of DMX content. To 'drill down' to show content you need the full DMX. Presumably that sits on some other page/location. The simple module, however, is not aware of this location and can not link to that. That would need to programmed into it and these modules were kept very simple.
I do have alternative addons that I sell that are more advanced and I make a living out of creating new addons for customers. One such an addon could be a treeview of content, so if you click the folder it expands and the files become visible. Contact me by email to get quotes and info on how to get this.
    Happy holidays,
    Peter
