    Hi,

We would like to customize the layout of the View Collection layout.

Basically , we would like to add custom sort index filed (like wieght).

I have read all threads about layout customization , ViewCollection column format , custom fields, etc, but I have to clear some issues

    My questions are:

    1. Can I add custom field to the View Collection layout ?

    2. How can I remove the view details link from the icon ?

    3. Can I edit the detail view , so I will choose which property to view ?

    4. In one of your answers , you were using "TemplateLink" as first parameter. What does it mean ?

Can you explain in more details the use / meaning of the various parameters in current syntax of customizing the layout

(e.g. : What is the meaning of "EntryType starts with" or "Parameters" ...)

    Thanks,

    David

    David,

    1. No, not in this version or without code changes.

    2. Use the following instead of the regular second column:
    TemplateIcon||24|||||~/DesktopModules/Bring2mind/DMX/images/View.gif||||||False||~/|Icon16||||

    3. Not without extending the module with a custom details screen. This means programming.

    4. Check out the field 'EntryType' in DMX_Entries and you'll understand. Every entry is marked with a 'type' and the visbility of a column can be tuned to correspond to a particular type.

    Kind regards,

    Peter

    Hi Peter,

    Thanks for the fast response.

    Another question :

At the default , when you click the icon, detail page is open ... then you can click Edit to edit the document properties

I would like that the end user (viewer) will not be able to click the icon and see the details, but the admin will be able edit the document properties.

How can I accomplish this task ?

    Thanks,

    Dudi
