I am running DMX 03.04.08 in a DNN 4.3.6 Intranet environment.

All users have access to the DMX and all users get email notifications on all changes on any DMX document. I assumed only the documents subscribed to would generate an email to the subscribers on changes. I checked all documentation on DMX but did not find helpfull information to change this behaviour.

I noticed that all users who have only viewing rights on DMX see all entries double, e.g. they see two versions of the documents and/or folders, which may be the actual and the approved. I checked "subscribers" to the approval-role and every user now sees only one version of the document!? A not subscribed user will still see two versions/double entries...

Please help me to avoid the email-floud and the doulbe viewing. Thanks for your help!

    Hi Wanno,
Notification is sent to the following:
    1. All subscribers (table DMX_Subscriptions) to an entry, and
    2. All people in the approval role if this role is set.
Notification is sent on the following condition:
    1. That there is a value set in SharedResources.ascx.resx (in the DMX/App_LocalResources directory) for the corresponding action.notification (in your case 'Edit.Notification').
    2. That that value corresponds to a set of values to find the email subject and body.

Does this help with the notification issue?

Regarding the double entries: it seems something is quite awry with the installation. I've never heard of anyone using 'subscribers' to approve content, but it still should not lead to this. I'd have to have a look at your installation to understand what went wrong.

    Hi Peter,
I did check 'subscribers' for approval role although this make no sense, because with this I managed to avoid the multiple displaying of documents and folders. I understand that I should leave this empty, if I leave approval empty however, almost all the entries appear like this:

    - For one folder e.g. I see two lines displayed. Following information to these lines:
Folder, EntryID=3 , LastModified 1/11/2007, Created 12/11/2006, folder content as expected
Folder, EntryID=363, LastModified 1/4/2007 , Created 12/11/2006, folder is empty

    - For one document e.g. I see two lines displayed. Following information to these lines:
    document, EntryID=8 , LastModified 1/15/2007 , Created 12/12/2006, Version: 1(last Version)
    document, EntryID=363, LastModified 12/12/2007, Created 12/11/2006, Version: 1
The Created By entrie is different for both entries

    - For another folder I even see 4 lines displayed. Following information to these lines:
    Folder, EntrYID= 52 , Version: 1 (Last Version)
    Folder, EntrYID= 226, Version: 1 (Last Version)
    Folder, EntrYID= 394, Version:
    Folder, EntrYID= 562, Version:
If I have 'subscribers' as approval role, the two lines with EntryID 5 and 226 are displayed, EntryID 394 and 562 dissappear.

Is there any setting for display of approved/non approved items or for displaying several versions of an entry?
