Peter,

I have 2 non-admin groups in the system.   When an Admin logs in and right clicks on a file, they get a menu item "New Version".   When a non-admin logs in they do not see this item.

The non-admin groups have Add/Edit/View security and Keep Versions is set to -1.  We do NOT have approvals turned on.

Any thoughts ?

Hi Joe,

Can you do the following for me: log in as host and put DMX into debug mode (Main Options, toward the bottom). Now, every time you click something the basis for the menu is saved to DesktopModules/Bring2mind/DMX/Menu. Send this file to me once you have right clicked as non-admin on one of the documents in question. O, and you can switch back to non-debug mode after.

Thanks,

Peter

Peter, maybe it's me.   I log in as HOST, check the box for debug and hit update.   I get no log files, and when I go back in the debug option is unchecked.

So sorry, that was me being dense.  It helps if you make the change in the production system instead of the test system.

Here's links to the files as both Admin and non-admin

Hi Joe,

I got them. The non admin one was from just a folder not when selecting an item. On that one you should not even have seen the 'Item' menu. Right?

OK, someone must have jumped in there on me.   Here's a link to 2 files which selected the EXACT same file.   The non-admin didn't display New Version.

Hi Joe,

2 solutions:

1. Upgrade to 04.02.00
2. Edit yourself DesktopModules/Bring2mind/DMX/Menu/DefaultMenu.resources. Look for 'item Value="New2" ' and check just above it. There's an 'xsl:if test="./Entry/Permission/@PermissionKey='ADD' or ./UserInfo/@IsAdmin='True'"' statement. Change the ADD to EDIT and you should be fine.
