Uploading Large Files - Some helpful Info 5408 1

Not sure which forum to post this in, but I thought it would help other DMX users.
One of my clients has a need to upload large files with DMX (>30MB). Sometimes these are PowerPoint files with lots of embedded images, or they may be a zip file of a folder structure they want to upload to DMX which are over 100MB. Either way, we had timeouts occur which aborted the upload process and obviously frustrated the user.

Removing the Subscribe and Unsubscribe buttons and text 3976 3

I am not able to find out how to remove the Subscribe and Unsubscribe text and buttons from a folder display. Our users will have no ability to subscribe, move or remove any files. I've been able to remove the collections, etc. icons but the Subscribe and Unsubscribe remain. The only icon I want to see is the Folder Up one.

Hi,i know this question sounds a little bit strange, but anyway.....
To describe the content of a collection it would be a nice feature to link one specified file with that collection. By clicking on a 'Download' icon this collection file should be displayed or downloaded.
Maybe you can think about that suggestion....

Hi Peter,
i'd like to add custom attributes but they should be defined different regarding the collection. i.e. the collection project has other attributes like tools.
Is there any way to implement this What about the 'Applies To' setting !

I am trying to upload a 142mb .exe file to our DMX pro module, I am getting the following error:

Exception of type System.OutOfMemoryException was thrown.
Our Setup is Webserver/Database server running Windows 2003 SP1, 3gb of RAM, 111GB harddrive.

I just upgraded to verison 3.04.04 of the DMX. As an administrator of the DMX, I am able to see past Versions of documents that have been modified, but as a user who can just view documents and download documents, they are not able to see past versions. Is there a way to allow View only Users to see past versions

Hi Peter,
i don't know if anybody did the same request for this new feature. Maybe it is working right now !
It would be great, if an Image could be uploaded besides the real document and could be displayed in the View-List. You know sometime one pictures is more than 1000 words...

I am having trouble using the Download icon from the DMX. It shows that the page is opening, then nothing happens. This happens on my DNN module and on this site as well. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this
I really need to be able to go back and download a previous document from the DMX.

I have a question, I work with DMX 03.03.02.
When a user subscribes to a collection for example named 'root' he gets
an email notification when a document has been add or changed.
This all works fine.
But when a new collection has been made beneath
the collection 'root' for example 'sub1' and in that collection a
document is added or changed the user doesn't get an email notification.

I just had a call from a user asking about an icon in his document listing. He had received a notification that a document was updated and when he browsed to the collection, there was an icon next to the 'download'disk of a folder with an exclamation point. The tooltip for it says 'Attention'. I've never seen this before. What is its purpose

This is just a general question. The area that administors the document section have asked me if I could find a solution for document numbering.
The scenario is this when we they used our old system documents were registered (used a centrat registar) under a document number i.e FHR_1 F for form HR for Human Resources and sequential number.
Using DMX we no have several areas adding documents and is not possible to run a single seperate registar for numbers.

What I mean to say is, I have multiple collections, which so far (I think) are pretty easy to sandbox from each other.
The scenario is a company with multiple divisions, each with their own library (or collection) of documents.
The good news is I can control the source collection for a DMX module instance. So, Div A sees Div A documents, Div B sees Div B documents.
The bad news here is that the categories are 'portal global,' instead of being 'collection specific.' So if a document is tagged ...

I have the latest DMX installed on DNN 3.2.2. I set up my module, then imported some items. That all works fine.
The problem is that I can not edit ANY of the properties of any items. For example, I can change the view permissions of an item, click update and get the error:
Input string was not in a correct format.
This happens for ANY type of edit for ANY item.
Also, how do you edit the permissions of a folder so all the children in a collection maintain the same view permissions(don't want...
